Good News! Our international student Aung Htet Paing from Myanmar has been awarded the Gold Prize in the "30th Anniversary of China-ASEAN Dialogue Relations" Youth Artwork Competition

Aung HtetPaing, a Myanmar student fromour ZIME, has won the Gold Award in the ASEAN Students Categoryin the Youth Artwork Competitionin celebratingthe 30th Anniversary of the China-ASEAN Dialogue Relations.

On the morning of November 22nd, the President Xi Jinping of China attended and presided over the 30th anniversary commemorative summit of the establishment of dialogue relations between China and ASEAN via video conference in Beijing, and delivered an important speech entitled "Building a Homeland with Shared Destiny". ChinaandASEAN officially announced the establishment of the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

To celebrate this important occasion, the China-ASEAN Center and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government jointly organized the China-ASEAN Youth ArtworkCompetition to mark the 30th anniversary of the China-ASEAN dialogue relations. The short video titled “My Stories in China,” produced byAung HtetPaingfromour School of International Education, won the Gold Award.

The micro-video titled “My Stories in China” mainly narrates the learning and living experiences of Aung HtetPaing, a Myanmar international student, in Hangzhou. It particularly includes his personal accounts during the pandemic, showcasing the care and attention given by the school to the students who stayed on campus. The video also reflects Aung HtetPaing’s deep affection for China.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020,ZIMEhas demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and a determination to "share a common destiny and build a common home." We have provided care and support to students who stayed on campus. The college leaders and teachers have visited the dormitories multiple times to understand the difficulties faced by international students in their studies and daily lives. During the pandemic, we delivered essential items such as rice, bread, and masks to the students. We also arranged for dedicated staff to be on duty during holidays to help solve any problems the students might have and maintained daily contact with them to check on their health conditions.
